The final service at St. Andrew's United Church in Little Bras d'Or was held on Sunday night. After 168 years the few members left were no longer able to meet the expenses of the building and decided to close. Gordena MacLeod, clerk of session reflected: "They say it is only a building, and that is true. But in this building, with God's help, we were a family. We didn't just meet on Sunday, we felt each other's pains and shared each other's joys." (from the Cape Breton Post, Sept. 17, 2011. )
