The United Protestant Church of Sydney River is hosting a gathering of people concerned with how the child welfare system works in our community. The Acting Director of the Cape Breton-Victoria Child Welfare Agency, the Regional Administrator for Eastern Region Cape Breton, and the Senior Director of Family and Children’s Services, Nova Scotia will be in attendance. The gathering will be for a half hour beginning at 8:30 AM on November 18, 2011 at the United Protestant Church of Sydney River, 1524 King’s Rd., Sydney in recognition of National Children’s Day.

The quiet presence of the greater community is welcomed as an expression of our concerns around communication with the agency, and of making the Best Interests of the Child take precedence in determining actions which need to take place on behalf of the child.
